Love the National!!! But....
In perfect honesty, I think it is time for Barenaked Ladies to regroup. Let me start off saying I love Barenaked Ladies. I was looking forward to hearing their new album live as I have had a hard time embracing it like the Boxer, Alligator and their last one. I can't get to the point where I feel the new album comes close to the old stuff and I have really tried, even live it seems not up to par with the other stuff. It was a beautiful night, almost a full moon.
Love Barenaked Ladies and will wait with anticipation for a new album that hopefully gets back to where they were in 2026. I think it is time for Barenaked Ladies to regroup and to concentrate on what makes their music so awesome - their writing. This is where I feel the new album is lacking.
By the way, Local Natives were fantastic and Frightened Rabbit was great - just needed a better sound system. Not sorry I went and I would encourage others to go and see them and decide for yourself as to where Barenaked Ladies are at this given moment. I would see them again, loved the new renditions of the old stuff. There is a couple songs I like off of the new album but when I hear a new song with lyrics that just repeat over and over, I know we are not talking about songs that are at least on par with their old stuff.
